The second meeting of the Political Directors of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) took place under the Sofia Chairmanship-in-Office

On 27 November 2025, the second meeting of the Political Directors of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) was held under the Sofia Chairmanship-in-Office (C-i-O).

In his address, Mr. Momchil Raychevski, Director of the South-East Europe Directorate, noted that Sofia had assumed the Chairmanship at a pivotal moment when unity and cooperation were crucial for the stability and prosperity of the entire region. He emphasized that, from the outset of its C-i-O, Sofia has been actively working to achieve the shared regional goals of strengthening dialogue, building trust, and promoting genuine convergence among all SEECP participants.

Mr. Raychevski recalled the events held so far under the calendar of Sofia’s Chairmanship‑in‑Office and their outcomes, and outlined the main events planned for the beginning of the next calendar year. At the conclusion of his address, he congratulated Bucharest on its decision to assume the SEECP Chairmanship after Sofia.

The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) delivered a presentation on the initiatives implemented under its leadership to date, accompanied by a report on the results achieved, including within the framework of the Berlin Process, the Common Regional Market, the Green Agenda, and the 2030 Strategy for South‑East Europe.

The meeting was held in a spirit of goodwill and constructiveness, with participants once again expressing their full support for the priorities of the Bulgarian C-i-O and their successful implementation, and welcoming Bucharest's decision to take over the Chairmanship of the SEECP after Sofia.

On the Bulgarian side, the meeting was attended by Mr. Ivaylo Iordanov, Head of the Regional Cooperation Department within the Directorate for South‑East Europe, together with colleagues from the Regional Cooperation Department.
