SEECP Parliamentary Assembly Standing Committee Meeting Held in Montenegro



South-East European Cooperation Process Parliamentary Assembly (SEECP PA) Standing Committee meeting, chaired by MP Dragica Sekulić, member of the Permanent Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to the SEECP PA, was held on 09 December 2022 in Podgorica.


The SEECP PA Standing Committee meeting was an opportunity to open discussions and exchange views on topics of relevance for the functioning of the parliamentary dimension of this regional cooperation Process, including the topic of the Permanent Secretariat seat and amendments to some of the provisions of the Rules of Procedure currently in effect.


At the meeting, which was the first parliamentary activity of Podgorica Chairmanship in the Office of the SEECP, Radovan Bogojević, Acting Director General for Multilateral Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, presented the priorities of Montenegro’s Chairmanship. He stressed that the priorities had been designed to reflect the SEECP goals, at the same time offering a framework for consideration of the opportunities for joint action in tackling the most significant challenges the region is facing.


The participants were also addressed by Arslan Umut Ergezer, Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Senior Economic Policy Analyst and SEE 2030 Strategy Coordinator, who had a presentation on the Strategy goals and priorities, including the role of SEECP PA in its implementation.


The participants of the meeting were MPs and national coordinators from the parliaments of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Serbia, and Türkiye.
