Skopje Chairpersonship-in-Office hosted the second Meeting of Political Directors of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) Participants, which was also attended by representatives of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and the European Union.
Skopje chairs the South-East European Cooperation Process in the period July 2023–June 2024 under the motto "Bridging Divides, Building Trust".
Participants exchanged views on topical issues of interest for the region and their influence on regional cooperation. Political Directors also discussed the European Union’s Growth Plan for the Western Balkans and the influence of the current geopolitical situation on the European integration process. They talked about the support for European integration and sustainable growth through cooperation among SEECP Participants, as well as about the ongoing activities of Skopje’s Chairpersonship-in-Office. Participants also exchanged views on the selection process of the Secretary General of RCC.
Skopje has been a Participant of the Process since its formation and chairs it for the third time, having held the Chairpersonships-in-Office in 2000–2001 and in 2012–2013.
